On April 23rd, the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition grandly opened at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. The exhibition featured a grand scale and numerous highlights, with the first-ever established Automotive Technology and Supply Chain Exhibition Zone drawing particular attention. Many technology, semiconductor, and chip enterprises showcased cutting-edge technologies and innovative products here. Siliconroad Semiconductor Co., Ltd., a leading innovator in high-end analog chip research and development, presented its LiDAR transmitter and receiver chips at the exhibition.

The founding team of Siliconroad Semiconductor has deep knowledge in the LiDAR field, and since its establishment, the company has successfully launched a series of LiDAR chips. Its laser driver chips offer significant technical advantages, providing customers with compact, low-power, and highly flexible solutions. These chips help LiDAR systems achieve breakthroughs in smaller size, higher performance, and lower power consumption, and have gained recognition and been widely adopted by leadingcustomers. For example, the SRS4201O is a 30V eight-channel high-side laser driver. As an industry-leading high-side driver, the SRS4201O supports a peak current of 20A per channel and 2ns narrow pulses. It allows independent control of each channel and supports multi-channel simultaneouslyfiring. The SRS4201O supports a direct-drive approach to power lasers, reducing power consumption and improving LiDAR transmitter efficiency. It supports firing repetition rates of up to 50MHz and offers flexible configuration of firing sequences and modes, meeting the diverse requirements of future LiDAR.

In addition to transmitter chips, Siliconroad Semiconductor’s LiDAR receiver transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) also demonstrate outstanding performance. Take the SRS4103Q as an example—it is a low-noise, four-channel TIA with a bandwidth of 260MHz, a high transimpedance gain of 72kΩ, and excellent input noise (42nARMS). The chip integrates a 4-to-1 multiplexer and a low-power enable circuit, making it an ideal choice for LiDAR receiver systems. It also features built-in overcurrent protection, ensuring chip safety even when facing input currents exceeding 1A, with a rapid recovery time of 30ns after protection is triggered. The chip operates on a single 3.3V power supply, consuming only 180mW, and includes a low-power mode (3mW) to further reduce system power consumption. It comes in a 4x4mm 24-pin QFN industrial-grade package.

At this exhibition, Siliconroad Semiconductor also introduced an integrated multi-channel analog receiver chip, which combines multiple TIAs, comparators, and multi-threshold decision functions. This chip is particularly suitable for SiPM-based LiDAR receiver systems, helping customers reduce components, reduce size, and lower power consumption. Additionally, the company showcased a 2D VCSEL driver design based on its high-side and low-side driver chips, which effectively helps customers minimize the size and power consumption of VCSEL driver circuits, eliminate false triggering of VCSELs, and provide fast and continuous VCSEL firing capabilities.

With the acceleration of automotive intelligence and automation trends, Siliconroad Semiconductor is bound to leverage its leading and innovative chip technologies to occupy a more important position in the LiDAR chip market. The company will inject new vitality into industry development and help the automotive sector march toward a smarter, more efficient future.
